Forest Gump movie review

Forrest Gump is a simple man with a low IQ but good intentions. He is running through childhood with his best and only friend Jenny. His 'mama' teaches him the ways of life and leaves him to choose his destiny. Forrest joins the army for service in Vietnam, finding new friends called Dan and Bubba, he wins medals, creates a famous shrimp fishing fleet, inspires people to jog, starts a ping-pong craze, create the smiley, write bumper stickers and songs, donating to people and meeting the president several times. However this is all irrelevant to Forrest who can only think of his childhood sweetheart Jenny. Who has messed up her life. Although in the end all he wants to prove is that anyone can love anyone. This is by far my favorite movie that I have watched off the list so far. I believe that the writers did a great job at adding comedy throughout the movie, while still keeping the serious undertone. Tom Hanks did an incredible job at playing the character of Forest Gump. I would definitly reccomend this movie to others.

Goodfellas movie review

the movie is about a man named Hill, a half-Irish, half-Sicilian New York kid who grows up idolizing the "wise guys" in his impoverished Brooklyn neighborhood. He begins hanging around the mobsters, running errands and doing odd jobs until he gains the notice of local chieftain Paulie Cicero (Paul_Sorvino), who takes him in as a surrogate son. As he reaches his teens, Hill is inducted into the life of mobbing and crime, where he distinguishes himself as a "stand-up guy" by choosing jail time over ratting on his accomplices. From that moment on, he is a part of the family. Along with his partner Tommy, he rises through the ranks to become Paulie's lieutenant; however, he quickly learns that, like his mentor Jimmy, his ethnicity prevents him from ever becoming a "made guy," an actual member of the crime family. Soon he finds himself the target of both the feds and the mobsters, who feel that he has become a threat to their security with his reckless dealing. I enjoyed the movie very much. There was never a dull moment in the plot. I think the fact that the movie was based on true events, made it way more interesting. This is probably my second favorite movie that I've watched for my movie reviews, next to Forest Gump. I think it was interesting how the movie really depicted different aspects of the mob. I also think the director did a very good job at showing how much of a toll being a mobster took on Hill and his wife. I would definitly reccomend this movie to others, especially if they are big fans of action and suspense movies.

eat, drink & be vegan: Let Them Eat Vegan "Buy On March 13th" Offer!

How does this work with time zones? If I want to be the first 3 to order 10 but it's not the 13th here until an hour after those on the east coast? I already bought one, but I'm thinking the perfect gift. I seriously LOVE LOVE LOVE your work!

African Queen Movie Review

This movie is set at the start of World War I, in a small African village. Kathryn Hepburn plays Rose, a stuffy, high society woman, that has accompanied her missionary brother, to Africa. When the war starts, the Germans invade the village and burn it all down. Rose's brother has a mental breakdown and dies. Rose is forced to take the only transportation that there is to get off the island. It is a broken down steamship, owned and captained by Charlie Allnut, called the African Queen. Along the way, Rose and Charlie get into many fights, but eventually they fall in love. They plan to steam down the river to the lake, where they plan to torpedo the large German warship that patrols there. They face rapids, storms, and alligators along the way. When they get to the lake a storm causes the African Queen to sink and they get captured, but the German warship hits the torpedoes that they left sticking out of the African Queen, as it is laying in the water capsized. The German warship blows up and Rose and Charlie escape and swim for the Eastern shore.
I enjoyed this movie a lot. There was never really any dull moments in the movie, because the whole movie showed them traveling and building the torpedoes. I would definitely recommend this movie, although I feel that the ending was too abrupt. It was also kind of funny to see how they shot some of the special effects back in 1951. Some of them looked really fake, compared to movies today.

When he first arrives there, he faces many unpleasant things, such as getting raped by another inmate and.getting beat by the guards. After a while he meets an older man named.Red. After a few years he becomes friends with many of the other inmates, especially.Red. Before long he befriends the guards by actually doing their taxes for them. Andy then became a personal assistant to the warden. After a while he planned his escape. Over the next couple of months he used his rock hammer to pick away the walls of his cell. Andy then escaped by going into the sewer. This causes the warden to commit suicide.

Red State Movie Review

Red State was one of the creepiest and most messed up movies I've seen. It has to do with this church like Fred Phelps but times 100. They protest against gays and dispis them its very controversial. In the end you find out they have been killing the homosexuals in the community. I found the movie to be very deep and dark and it painted an image of a very twisted and distorted version of our society. The shots were very good and the movie always kept my intest. I found it really odd though how some of it played out it seemed unrealistic when you would step back but while watching the movie they did an amazing job of making it seem possible. Over all I would say its a movie that really gets you thinking and its kind of an eye opener on how good things can turn horribly wrong and about how some people just have something that jus doesn't click right.

North By Northwest (Max Woodard)

When most people hear the name Hitchcock, they think of 4 classic movies. Rear Window, Vertico, Psyco and North by Northwest. North by Northwest was the last of these 4 to be made and is a commonly known film from household to household. In the movie New York advertising executive Roger Thornhill is taken by spies who believe he is a CIA agent by the name of George Kaplan. He escapes the spies but must find Kaplan in order to clear himself of being a suspect for a murder. The movie is full of adventure and double cross as Thornhill finds himself being chased by a crop-dusting plane in a cornfield running for his life. The film is a great and a personal favorite. I recommend it to anybody over the age of 13.
